Yesterday, the third session of the Parliamentary Leaders of Central Asian countries and the Republic of Korea concluded yesterday in the Uzbek capital, focused on “Cooperation for Human Dignity, Social Justice and Environmental Protection”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
According to the Upper House of the Parliament, the plenary session and its subsidiary meetings provided an in-depth platform for discussing ways to deepen parliamentary cooperation on key issues, including the promotion of human dignity, the advancement of social justice, and the protection of the environment. Delegates exchanged perspectives on legislative and policy measures to strengthen collaborative efforts in addressing social and ecological challenges across the region.
In addition, participants shared perspectives on economic cooperation and digital transformation, outlining proposals aimed at developing the digital economy, implementing innovative solutions, and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises. On environmental and “green” policy matters, delegates discussed strategies to mitigate the impacts of climate change, ensure sustainable use of natural resources, strengthen environmental legislation, and enhance parliamentary oversight in these areas.
During the meeting, particular attention was given to human rights and gender equality. Participants proposed continuing cooperation in areas such as gender equality, youth policy, and the development of educational and cultural exchanges, emphasizing the importance of fostering inclusive and socially equitable regional initiatives.
The meeting also concluded with the adoption of the Joint Declaration of the Third Meeting of the Heads of Parliaments of Central Asian States and the Republic of Korea, signaling a shared commitment to strengthen regional cooperation across social, economic, and environmental priorities.
The participants reached an agreement to continue collaboration aimed at strengthening parliamentary diplomacy, exchanging best legislative practices, and expanding dialogue platforms, signaling a sustained commitment to regional legislative cooperation.
The Fourth Meeting of the Heads of Parliaments of Central Asian States and the Republic of Korea is scheduled to take place in 2026 in the Republic of Kazakhstan, reflecting the ongoing commitment to regional parliamentary cooperation and dialogue.
