Uzbek–Indian “Roundtable” discussion takes place in Chennai

CHENNAI, April 18. /Dunyo IA/. Embassy of Uzbekistan in Delhi, together with the regional branch of the Confederation of Indian Industry (Confederation of Indian Industries - CII) in Tamil Nadu, organized a roundtable in Chennai - one of the key industrial and technological hubs of South India, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event brought together representatives of the Indian business community interested in expanding cooperation with Uzbekistan.
Ambassador Sardor Rustambaev provided participants with a detailed overview of Uzbekistan’s economic development dynamics and key reforms aimed at creating the most favourable business climate possible. Diplomat specifically emphasized the conditions for implementing investment projects and the guarantees for protecting the rights of foreign investors.
As part of the presentation, the advantages of Uzbekistan's special economic zones and industrial parks were presented in detail. Indian businessmen received comprehensive information on tax incentives and preferences, as well as state support measures available to foreign companies.
Indian side showed keen interest in establishing cooperation across a wide range of areas. Among the priorities mentioned were the automotive and machinery industries, pharmaceuticals, the textile industry, digital technologies, artificial intelligence, alternative energy and education.
Special emphasis was placed on specific industrial projects. Indian companies expressed interest in organizing production in Uzbekistan for automotive components, drones, sensors and other high-demand products.
The meeting was held in an interactive format. Indian entrepreneurs received detailed answers to all their questions, including practical aspects of doing business in Uzbekistan.
At the conclusion of the “roundtable”, all participating companies were invited to take part in the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum, which will be held in June this year.
