Investment and Business Forum between Uzbekistan and Iraq opens new avenues for economic partnership

• 97ТASHKENT, January 15. /Dunyo IA/. During the visit of the Iraqi business delegation to Uzbekistan, Uzbekistan–Iraq Investment and Business Forum was held in Tashkent, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The forum brought together business representatives from both countries active in a wide range of sectors, including the production and trade of food and agricultural products, construction materials, contracting and real estate, pharmaceuticals, electrical and household appliances, textile and weaving industries, furniture manufacturing as well as service sectors such as IT, consulting, customs declaration and tourism.
Opening remarks were delivered by Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan; Davron Vakhobov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan; Atheer Dawood Salman Al Ghrairi, Iraq's Minister of Trade; Ibrahim Al-Baghdadi, President of the Iraqi Economic Council and Salar Mohammed Amin, Vice Chairman of the Iraqi National Investment Commission (NIC).
As part of the forum, a presentation was held highlighting Uzbekistan’s investment potential, industrial capacity and export opportunities.
Business representatives from both countries also took part in B2B meetings, where they discussed promising areas for bilateral cooperation.
In addition, during the forum, two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed: one between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the Federation of Chambers of Commerce of Iraq and another between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the Iraqi Economic Council, aimed at strengthening collaborative ties.
Overall, the event marked the second business forum in the history of Uzbek-Iraqi economic cooperation, following the inaugural forum held on December 23, 2025, in Baghdad.
