• 169TASHKENT, December 13. /Dunyo IA/. A presentation was held in Tashkent for the book by renowned Pakistani author Muhammad Abbas Khan, titled “Uzbekistan: The Third Renaissance – A Concept of the Future”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event was attended by Khayriddin Sultonov, Advisor and Presidential Speechwriter of Uzbekistan, Murtaza Solangi, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Information Affairs, Rana Ihsaan Afzal Khan, Coordinator for Trade under the Prime Minister of Pakistan, representatives of Pakistan’s national television and radio company, political analysts and other officials.
At the conclusion of the event, Muhammad Abbas Khan was formally awarded the title of “Honorary Member of the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan”.
Speaking about his book, Muhammad Abbas Khan said:
- I have lived in Uzbekistan for 45 years. I interact daily with children, the elderly, men and women, and hear their hopes and concerns. Over the years, I have witnessed profound changes in society, which inspired me to write this book.
When I completed the first chapter, my publisher, Tahir Farrukh, urged me to finish the work. I also received great support from my family: my wife, who lived in Uzbekistan for 30 years, was the first to read several pages and believe in my work, and my daughter, a graduate of Tashkent State University of Law, encouraged me to continue. Their words gave me strength to devote myself fully to this project.
Writing this book was not just an academic exercise. I have seen real progress in Uzbekistan: new ideas, approaches and ways of thinking taking shape. These changes are noted not only by citizens but also by neighboring countries - Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, and others. Regional relations have become more open, trusting, and mature.
This progress has been made possible under President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who has built a system of peaceful, cooperative relations and provided clear guidance for the nation’s development. As he said, “This is our path. Let us walk it together”. With land, people, and leadership, results are inevitable. I sincerely congratulate the people of Uzbekistan.
Over many years, I wrote weekly articles on Uzbekistan for the Daily Ittehad. The book was not planned in advance; the material accumulated naturally from my interactions with people. I wrote sincerely, reflecting what children, elders, and citizens expressed, and the hopes they placed in their leaders. Today, I am honored by the warm reception I have received, and I wish to say again: Long live Pakistan and Uzbekistan! Long live the friendship between our countries!
Murtaza Solangi, Press Secretary and Advisor to the President of Pakistan, remarked:
- I would first like to congratulate my compatriot Muhammad Abbas Khan, who has become not only a son of Pakistan but also a son of Uzbekistan. He has served both nations by highlighting the continuity from the first and second renaissances to the Third Renaissance championed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The book uniquely integrates history with scientific disciplines innovation, logic, geography, anthropology, and medicine showing how these fields shape a new stage of development. More importantly, it systematically presents President Mirziyoyev’s expansive vision, including innovation, regional connectivity, energy corridors, scientific thought, and broad regional integration from Uzbekistan to the Arabian Sea.
I am confident that the book reflects both the leadership’s perspectives and the sentiments of the Pakistani people. Leaders such as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari consistently support regional integration and view Uzbekistan as a key partner in Central Asia.
Once described as a ‘double landlocked country,’ Uzbekistan is in fact “doubly connected” to the world-westward through the Caspian and Azerbaijan, eastward to China and southward to Pakistan opening vast transportation and economic opportunities.
This book exemplifies how the peoples of Uzbekistan and Pakistan can progress under the wise leadership of their presidents, particularly President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
