International Exhibition "Nomadic Peoples along the Silk Road" opens in Gwangju

SEOUL, November 27. /Dunyo IA/. The ceremonial opening of the international exhibition "Nomadic peoples along the Silk Road", dedicated to the rich cultural heritage of the Central Asian region, including the Republic of Uzbekistan, was held today at the National Asia Culture Center Museum under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The exhibition holds particular significance as it is organized within the framework of the "Year of Cultural Exchange" between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea, opening during this officially declared landmark year.

The exhibition features a range of artefacts vividly showcasing Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage, national distinctiveness, and historical continuity. Highlights include traditional handicrafts, cultural and historical exhibits, national musical instruments, and both artistic and practical examples of the nation’s cultural legacy.

Each exhibit at the exhibition was recognized as a vivid representation of the rich culture, distinctive traditions, and historical heritage of the people of Uzbekistan.

The international exhibition is hosted in a dedicated 600-square-meter exhibition space at the National Asia Culture Center Museum and will be presented to the Korean public over the next four years.

Furthermore, considering that the museum attracts nearly 20 million visitors annually, the exhibition’s significance and its extensive audience reach are further underscored.

Within the framework of the event, and with the approval of the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Director General of the National Asia Culture Center, Kim Sang-uk, was ceremonially awarded the honorary title of "Ambassador of Uzbek Culture".

This prestigious title serves as a tangible recognition of his contributions to developing cultural cooperation between the two countries, strengthening friendship between their peoples, and promoting Uzbek culture both in the Republic of Korea and within the global community.
