Ambassador of Uzbekistan presents credentials to the President of Brazil

BRASILIA, July 10. /Dunyo IA/. Uzbek Ambassador with residence in Washington Furkat Sidikov, presented his credentials to Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Ceremony took place at the “Itamaraty” Palace of Official Events with the participation of representatives of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Presidential Administration.
During the meeting, Brazilian President asked that his sincere greetings and best wishes be conveyed to the President of Uzbekistan and the entire Uzbek people .
Brazilian side confirmed its interest in further deepening bilateral relations, emphasizing that it views Uzbekistan as a promising and reliable partner.
They also reaffirmed their readiness to intensify political dialogue at the highest level, expand trade, economic and investment cooperation, and infuse practical interaction between the two countries with concrete content.
Brazilian side expressed gratitude to Uzbekistan for its consistent support of Brazil's initiatives at the UN, BRICS and other international organizations.
During his visit to Brazil, Ambassador Furkat Sidikov also held bilateral talks with Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira, head of the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade, and Services – Advisor to the President Rogerio Zerbone, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergio Klibanc and President of the state agency “ApexBrasil” Jorge Viana.
Following the meetings, a number of agreements were reached, including the joint development of visits and meetings at the highest and high levels, the creation of an Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Issues, the widespread use of the first Trade House of Uzbekistan, opened in Rio de Janeiro, in the development of commercial relations and the promotion of its activities, the organization of the export of Uzbek mineral fertilizers, the intensification of cooperation in the fields of geology, higher education and sports, as well as the use of simplified procedures to expand access of Uzbek products to the Brazilian market.
In addition, an agreement was reached to work jointly, with the assistance of the Government of Brazil, on preparing a schedule of negotiations with leading Brazilian companies, organizing mutual visits and developing investment proposals.
It is worth recalling that in May 2023, Ambassador Furkat Sidikov presented his letters of credence to U.S. President Joseph Biden as the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the United States of America. In October of the same year, Ambassador handed copies of his credentials to the Ambassador of Brazil to the U.S. regarding his appointment as Ambassador to Brazil with residence in Washington, DC. In June 2024, Furkat Sidikov also presented his letters of credence to the Governor General of Canada, Mary Simon, as the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Canada.
