ADANA, July 28. /Dunyo IA/.  Diplomats from the Embassy of Uzbekistan visited the Turkish province of Adana, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the visit, the delegation held talks with the Governor of the province, Mustafa Yavuz. Parties discussed expanding trade and economic cooperation, intensifying investment partnership and bringing interregional ties to a qualitatively new level.

Governor supported the initiative to launch direct flights between Çukurova International Airport and Uzbekistan, emphasizing that the implementation of this project would contribute to a significant invigoration of business, tourism, and investment ties not only with Adana but also with the neighboring provinces of Mersin, Osmaniye and Hatay.

In turn, Turkish side was invited to participate in the “Melon Festival” and the “Invest in Khorezm” business forum, which will be held on August 7–9th in the Khorezm region.

Within the framework of the visit program, a business forum was also held featuring Zehni Kıvanç, Chairman of the Adana Chamber of Industry. Event was attended by representatives of Turkish companies operating in agricultural machinery, greenhouse farming, textiles, information technology and other sectors.

Forum participants were provided with information regarding Uzbekistan's export potential, its investment climate and the ongoing reforms aimed at promoting national brands in foreign markets.

Parties noted the progressive development of Uzbek-Turkish economic cooperation based on strategic partnership, emphasizing that direct dialogue between regions and business representatives creates a solid foundation for the implementation of new joint projects.

In addition, the delegation familiarized themselves with the activities of major Turkish industrial enterprises such as “Kıvanç Tekstil”, “Kıvanç Enerji” and “Kıvanç Kağıt”. During the factory visits, production processes and modern technologies were studied, and prospects for developing industrial cooperation in the textile and renewable energy sectors, organizing high value-added production and exchanging best practices were considered.

Upon completion of the visit, a meeting was held with compatriots living in Adana. Together with representatives of the Uzbek diaspora, the diplomats visited the “Türkistan Korbaşılar Parkı” park and the memorial complex dedicated to Shermuhammadbek, one of the leaders of the national liberation movement.
