CAIRO, July 22. /Dunyo IA/.  An international scientific and practical conference titled "Bridges of History and Culture: Uzbekistan–Egypt" and a presentation ceremony for new domestic scientific and fiction publications were held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan, in cooperation with the Writers' Union of our country, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event was attended by prominent international experts, Orientalist scholars, cultural and art figures, representatives of the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan, as well as members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Cairo.

Participants were presented with information regarding the rich historical and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan, the ancient cities of the Great Silk Road, the large-scale reforms implemented in recent years in the spheres of culture and tourism, as well as the country’s significant tourism potential.

A special place in the program was dedicated to the presentation of unique publications aimed at the wide popularization of Uzbekistan’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage on the international stage. Among the featured publications, particular interest was garnered by the monograph titled “Andijan Polka: Tradition, values and modernity”, prepared by Bakhtiyor Rasulov, Muhayo Ortikova and Asror Allayorov. It highlights the historical origins, national significance, and contemporary development of the vibrant Uzbek folk dance, “Andijan Polka”.

No less interest was generated by Binafsha Bozorova’s book titled “Zulfiya: A Melodic Voice of Friendship”, dedicated to the work of Zulfiya, a poetess deeply cherished by the Uzbek people, which presents her to the international audience as a poet celebrating friendship, humanism, and kindness. Furthermore, the book titled “The Art of the Khorezm Dance “Lazgi”: Years of Recognition” was presented to the general public. The publication details the journey toward international recognition of the ancient Khorezm dance “Lazgi”, which has been inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Alongside the books, the attention of academic circles was drawn to the “SUZ.IN” international scientific journal published in India.

The speakers at the conference underscored that Uzbekistan and Egypt, as cradles of ancient civilizations, have made an immense contribution to the development of world culture and global civilization. It was noted that the joint project of the Embassy and the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan will serve to further strengthen bilateral cultural and humanitarian cooperation, elevate it to a qualitatively new level, and contribute to preserving the rich historical and cultural heritage of the two nations for future generations.

At the conclusion of the event, the parties agreed to intensify interaction between the scientific and creative circles of the two countries, as well as to implement major joint publishing projects on a regular basis.
