Bakhtiyor Saidov: Opening of the Embassy of Belgium in Tashkent marks an important milestone in the development of bilateral relations

ТАSHKENT, September 10. /Dunyo IA/. Today, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov received the newly appointed Ambassador of Belgium, Matthias Kende, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
“Received copies of the credentials of H.E. Matthias Kende, newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium to the Republic of Uzbekistan, - the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan wrote in his telegram-channel. - Noted that the opening of the Embassy of Belgium in Tashkent marks an important milestone in the development of bilateral relations.
Particular attention was paid to further strengthening political dialogue and expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation between our countries.
Reaffirmed our readiness to further advance Uzbekistan–Belgium relations both bilaterally and within the framework of cooperation with the European Union.
Wished Mr. Ambassador every success in his responsible and honourable mission in Uzbekistan”.
It is worth noting that Uzbekistan and Belgium established diplomatic relations on March 16, 1992.
Matthias Kende succeeds Eric de Maeyer, who was previously accredited as the Ambassador of Belgium to Tashkent.
