An international conference dedicated to the Jadid movement began in Tashkent

TASHKENT, December 11. /IA "Dunyo"/. A two-day international scientific conference on the topic "Jadids: national identity, ideas of independence and statehood" began today in Tashkent, reports a correspondent of "Dunyo" information agency.

The conference was organized jointly with the Public Fund for the Support and Development of National Media, the State Museum of the Memorial to the Victims of Repression under the Cabinet of Ministers, the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences and the Organization of Turkic States.

The forum is attended by leading scientists from Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Ukraine, the USA, Russia, Germany and Japan, including Temur Khuzhaugli, Adib Khalid, Hisao Komatsu, Zainobiddin Abdirashidov and the author of world-famous historical series Mehmet Bozdag.

On the first day of the conference, new insights were gained about the consistent study of the idea, goals and objectives of the Jadid movement, contributions in the field of education and publishing, socio-political efforts to form a national statehood, as well as the scientific and cultural heritage of the Jadids.

On the second day of the event, a panel session will be held with the participation of famous Uzbek and foreign scientists, representatives of the field of history, and it is also open to the public.

The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent a greeting to the participants of the international conference.
