AKTAU, April 22. /Dunyo IA/. Large-scale festive events dedicated to the nationwide celebration of Navruz and the 690th anniversary of the birth of Amir Temur were held in the Kazakh cities of Atyrau and Aktau, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

A delegation from Uzbekistan took part in the celebrations, including representatives of the “Vatandoshlar” Public Foundation, the State Philharmonic of Uzbekistan, the Karakalpak State Academic Musical Theatre, and the “Madaniyat va Ma’rifat” television channel.

On April 13, Navruz festivities were held at Khalel Dosmukhamedov University in Atyrau with the participation of officials from the Atyrau regional administration, members of the public, and around 200 citizens of Uzbekistan. A cultural programme featured a concert performed by creative ensembles of the State Philharmonic of Uzbekistan and the Karakalpak State Academic Musical Theatre. Following the concert, a traditional Uzbek dinner was organized for the guests.

A meeting was also held with Uzbek students studying at the university. During the event, a representative of the World Youth Association of Uzbekistan spoke about existing support mechanisms for Uzbek youth abroad. The participants were also shown the feature film “Elparvar”. In addition, an agreement was reached with the university administration on the establishment and development of an “Uzbek Language and Literature Room” within the academic building.

The festive events continued in Aktau, where a meeting with Uzbek students took place at Shakhmardan Yessenov Caspian University of Technology and Engineering. Members of the official delegation provided detailed information on new support mechanisms, including scholarship programmes, assistance in employment of graduates of foreign universities in Uzbekistan, as well as internship opportunities. A patriotic-themed film was also screened for students.

On the same day, the delegation visited the Uzbek literature corner established in the Mangystau Regional Library. The library director noted the growing interest of visitors in works of Uzbek literature.

Within the framework of the programme, a solemn event dedicated to Navruz and the 690th anniversary of Amir Temur was held at the House of Friendship of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan. The ceremony brought together heads of diplomatic missions, representatives of ethno cultural associations, and more than 200 citizens of Uzbekistan. During the opening ceremony, the director of the House of Friendship extended congratulations on the occasion of Navruz and conveyed warm wishes to the participants.

As part of the event, the “Vatandoshlar” Public Foundation presented commemorative gifts and Uzbek-language literature to the Uzbek ethnocultural association “Pakhtakor” and the Karakalpak association “Allayar Zholy” in the Mangystau region. The celebrations concluded with a traditional Uzbek dastarkhan, bringing together more than 200 guests.

The events made a significant contribution to further strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, reaffirming the high level of friendship, good-neighborliness, and mutual respect between the fraternal peoples.
