Holiday of Navruz widely celebrated across Italy

ROME, March 24. /Dunyo IA/. A series of cultural and sports events dedicated to Navruz were held in the capital of Italy on the initiative of active Uzbek students pursuing their master’s studies at the Sapienza University of Rome and with the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
On March 21, a festive tournament of the intellectual game “Navro’z Zakovat Quiz” was held at the main campus of the Sapienza University of Rome. The competition brought together 8 teams, comprising approximately 60 participants. The team “Paradox” secured first place in the tournament. It is noteworthy that similar tournaments had previously been organized in November 2025 in Turin and in February of the current year in Rome.
On March 22, a Navruz celebration event was held in Rome, attended by around 200 guests. Among the participants were students studying in various cities across Italy, compatriots from other European countries, as well as students from several foreign nations.
Guests had the opportunity to sample traditional Uzbek cuisine, including plov, samsa, chuchvara and various sweets. Students from Italy, as well as from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, became acquainted with Uzbek culture and traditions and also participated in national dances accompanied by music.
Within the framework of the program, an awards ceremony was also held for the winners of the “Navro’z Zakovat Quiz” tournament. The “Paradox” team, which secured first place, received a special certificate signed by the leadership of the Embassy, as well as a monetary prize collected by students.
Participants of the festive event expressed their satisfaction with the organization and extended their gratitude to the organizers, emphasizing that taking part in such an event was a meaningful and memorable experience.
