RIYADH, April 24. /Dunyo IA/. The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Riyadh organized an online meeting dedicated to strengthening Uzbekistan–Saudi Arabia cooperation in the field of inclusive education, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event brought together representatives of the National Agency for Social Protection of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, leading higher education institutions of the country, and Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University.

During the meeting, participants discussed improving the activities of specialized schools and boarding institutions for children with disabilities, as well as enhancing the qualifications of teaching staff working in this field. Particular attention was paid to the development of inclusive education and the introduction of modern approaches to the educational process.

The Uzbek side provided detailed information on the activities of the National Agency for Social Protection, established on the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, including measures aimed at supporting socially vulnerable groups and ensuring equal access to education for persons with disabilities.

The parties expressed mutual interest in expanding practical cooperation. Priority areas identified included the implementation of capacity-building programs with the involvement of specialists from Princess Nourah University, the organization of professional development courses for teachers of specialized institutions, and the expansion of participation of Uzbek educators in international online programs.

At the conclusion of the meeting, an agreement was reached to develop scientific cooperation, including conducting joint research in the field of special and inclusive education and publishing the results in internationally recognized journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science.
