BERLIN, April 26. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador of Uzbekistan Dilshod Akhatov, met with Volker Treier, Head of Foreign Trade at the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHK), reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state of trade, economic, and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and Germany, the prospects for its further development, and ways to intensify contacts between the business circles of the two countries.

German side emphasized the importance of effectively utilizing existing economic partnership opportunities amid current challenging geopolitical conditions and further expanding their substance. In this context, it was noted that Uzbekistan is one of Germany’s key economic partners in Central Asia.

During the negotiations, it was particularly emphasized that thanks to the large-scale reforms and the policy of openness implemented in Uzbekistan since 2016, the country is becoming an increasingly attractive market for German business circles.

The sides also reviewed promising areas of cooperation, including the introduction of environmentally friendly and resource-saving technologies in energy and water supply, the development of industrial cooperation, as well as issues of vocational training and the employment of qualified specialists.

Additionally, during the meeting, an exchange of views took place regarding the organization of business missions between the two countries, the holding of joint events, the expansion of direct contacts between business circles, and the further development of trade and economic cooperation.

Following the negotiations, the sides expressed their readiness to further strengthen economic and institutional cooperation between Uzbekistan and Germany, promote new investment projects and consistently continue the practical dialogue and exchange of delegations between their respective business communities.
