A major UAE retail chain shows great interest in importing Uzbek products

ABU DHABI, June 6. /Dunyo IA/. Uzbek diplomats met with Saifee Rupawala, the CEO of one of the UAE's largest retail chains, “LuLu Group International”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the talks, the company's director was briefed on the food, agricultural and textile products manufactured in our country, and relevant commercial proposals were presented.
Saifee Rupawala noted the interest in cooperating with Uzbekistan in this area, emphasizing the need for a detailed study of transport corridors to ensure product supplies at competitive prices.
Following the talks, an agreement was reached to organize a visit of a delegation of leading Uzbek exporters to the UAE in July 2026 for negotiations with “LuLu” representatives. The parties also agreed to jointly study new logistics corridors for exporting products from Uzbekistan to the UAE.
“LuLu Group International” was founded in 1974 in Abu Dhabi. The company operates in more than 20 countries worldwide. It has about 270 retail outlets (120 hypermarkets, over 110 express stores, and more than 30 minimarkets). In the UAE, 40 hypermarkets and over 20 stores of other formats are currently operational. In 2025, the company's revenue reached 7.9 billion dollars.
