New Uzbekistan opens its doors to Finnish investors, strengthening bilateral economic ties

HELSINKI, February 16. /Dunyo IA/. A “roundtable” titled “New Uzbekistan: A large country with great opportunities” was held in Finland’s capital, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event was organized with the support of “EastCham Finland” and brought together leading Finnish companies, business representatives and government officials.
During the |”roundtable”, participants were briefed on Uzbekistan’s extensive reform agenda, efforts to improve the investment climate and measures to enhance the legal framework, modernize the tax system, and create favourable conditions for foreign investors. Opportunities for cooperation in priority economic sectors - including industry, energy, information technology, logistics and others - were also discussed.
Finnish companies expressed strong interest in the Uzbek market and engaged in practical negotiations on several promising projects. Specific proposals were put forward to expand bilateral trade and economic ties and strengthen investment cooperation.
Executives from “Eduten”, “METSO Oy”, “EPSE Oy”, “Pribori Oy” and “Honka” praised the effectiveness of ongoing reforms in education, mining, environmental protection, healthcare and construction, sharing experiences of successful collaboration with Uzbekistan.
Special emphasis was placed on the digitalization of business registration processes, which was recognized for improving the efficiency and quality of public services.
Additionally, “Pribori Oy” and “EPSE Oy” expressed interest in joint projects in Uzbekistan, including the production of medical equipment and environmental initiatives. The parties agreed to organize visits for company representatives to Uzbekistan and hold meetings with relevant state institutions to advance these initiatives.
