V Tashkent International Investment Forum welcomes participation of Indian business representatives

NEW DELHI, February 17. /Dunyo IA/.  The Embassy of Uzbekistan held a “roundtable” at the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), one of the country’s oldest and most influential business organizations, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event brought together more than 50 representatives of the Indian business community and focused on presenting the socio-economic reforms and investment opportunities created in Uzbekistan.

Sardor Rustambaev, Ambassador of Uzbekistan provided a detailed overview of the large-scale transformations implemented in recent years under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Particular attention was paid to the advantages of free economic zones and industrial parks, which offer foreign investors significant tax incentives, preferences and government support.

The discussions also centered on partnership prospects in key sectors such as textiles, energy, pharmaceuticals, mining, agriculture, digital technologies and education.

The diplomat emphasized that bilateral relations between the two countries have reached a qualitatively new level, with trade and economic cooperation becoming a priority. A striking confirmation of this is the achievement of a $1.33 billion trade turnover by the end of 2025, marking the practical fulfillment of the strategic goals set by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

During the Q&A session, Indian entrepreneurs received clarifications on the practical aspects of doing business in Uzbekistan. They highly commended the consistency of ongoing reforms and the conditions created, expressing interest in long-term, mutually beneficial projects.

Company representatives voiced confidence that the existing investment climate offers substantial opportunities for sustained cooperation.

The meeting concluded with an agreement with the leadership of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) to organize a visit to Uzbekistan by a representative business delegation. All participants also received official invitations to attend the Fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum, scheduled to take place in June this year.

The screening of video presentations highlighting Uzbekistan’s investment, export and tourism potential generated lively interest among attendees, providing a dynamic conclusion to the event.

Founded in 1927 at the initiative of Mahatma Gandhi, FICCI brings together more than 250,000 companies through a network of regional chambers and serves as a key bridge between business and the Government of India.
