Uzbekistan and Poland reach an agreement to expand economic partnership

WARSAW, October 6. /Dunyo IA/. A meeting was held between representatives of the Embassy of our country and Michał Jaros, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology of Poland and Co-Chairman of the Uzbekistan–Poland Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Negotiations focused on elevating bilateral trade, economic, industrial and investment relations to a new stage.
During the conversation, Polish representatives specifically recognized Uzbekistan as the most vital and strategic partner in Central Asia. The parties highly appreciated the current state of economic relations between the two nations, noting the steadily growing interest of large Polish businesses and entrepreneurs in the market of Uzbekistan.
Participants addressed the prospects for implementing joint investment projects in strategic areas such as the mining industry, rare metals and critical raw materials extraction, energy, ecology and water resource management.
At the same time, agreements were reached to improve transport and logistics infrastructure, ease existing technical and administrative procedures aimed at increasing labour migration and mutual trade volumes and support direct trade relations between the enterprises of the two states.
To expand bilateral relations, a series of important events were planned. In particular, the sides exchanged views on the upcoming visit of a prestigious business mission to Uzbekistan in November of this current year, led by Michał Jaros and consisting of representatives from the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), Chamber of Commerce and Industry and major companies.
During the dialogue, relevant proposals and recommendations were voiced regarding the opening of a PAIH representative office in Uzbekistan, hosting the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission in Warsaw in 2027, and organizing a major joint business forum with the participation of Polish and Uzbek businesspersons.
