Termez to host “Uzbekistan–Russia: Strategic Partnership in the Eurasian Space” conference on March 30–31

TASHKENT, March 18. /Dunyo/. On 30–31 March, Termez will host the Uzbek-Russian conference “Uzbekistan–Russia: Strategic Partnership in the Eurasian Space”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The conference is jointly organized by the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan (ISRS) and the Valdai International Discussion Club.

The event will bring together leading experts, senior officials, representatives of analytical and research institutions, as well as business communities from Uzbekistan and Russia for a substantive discussion on the current state and future trajectory of bilateral cooperation.

The Uzbek side will be represented by Eldor Aripov, Director of ISRS (ISRS); Ulugbek Kosimov, khokim of Surkhandarya region; Bobur Usmanov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan; Oleg Pekos, First Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan; Umid Abidkhodjaev, Director of the Institute for Macroeconomic and Regional Studies under the Cabinet of Ministers and others.

The Russian delegation will include Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin, Ambassador Alexei Erkhov, Chairman of the Board of the Valdai Discussion Club Foundation Andrey Bystritskiy, Research Director of the Foundation for Development and Support of the Valdai Discussion Club Fyodor Lukyanov, Research Director of the Foundation for Development and Support of the Valdai Discussion Club Timofei Bordachev, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan German Lerner, and others.

The conference is aimed at further strengthening the Uzbek-Russian strategic partnership and identifying promising avenues for expanding cooperation across the trade and economic, investment, transport, and technological sectors.

The agenda will focus on key issues related to ensuring security and stability in Eurasia, advancing industrial cooperation, promoting investment and digital transformation, as well as enhancing transport connectivity and developing infrastructure to support international trade.

A distinctive feature of the upcoming conference will be a dedicated interregional session involving a delegation from the Republic of Tatarstan. This segment will provide an opportunity for representatives of the Republic of Tatarstan and the city of Termez to engage in a practical discussion of ongoing industrial, investment, and humanitarian cooperation projects, while outlining concrete steps to further deepen interregional partnership.

The conference has traditionally served as an important platform for sustaining expert dialogue through bilateral discussions. This year’s event will be held at the Termez International Trade Center in Termez, Surkhandarya region — a strategically significant transport hub on Uzbekistan’s southern frontier.
