Presentation in Davos: Uzbekistan – a country of great opportunities for partners and investors

DAVOS, January 29. /Dunyo IA/. Representatives of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Frankfurt am Main took part in a scientific and practical conference held in Switzerland, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event titled “Rewiring the World”, organized by the Swiss-Asian Chamber of Commerce (SwissCham Asia) in cooperation with the local government of Davos-Klosters, the Zurich-based Singularity Academy, and the ASEAN Association, brought together representatives of political, academic, economic, and business circles, as well as members of the diplomatic corps from various countries.
The conference was held in a round-table format, providing an open platform for discussions on current global political developments, their impact on state sovereignty and security, and the rapid advancement of technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), as well as their application in public administration.
At the same time, participants addressed key economic issues such as attracting foreign capital, building investor confidence, demographics, and productivity. An exchange of views took place on achievements and measures implemented in these areas across different countries.
Uzbek diplomats briefed participants on the reforms and achievements of Uzbekistan’s economy in recent years. Of particular interest were data on the country’s rapid economic growth, including GDP reaching USD 145 billion last year, total attracted investments amounting to USD 43.1 billion, and the operation of 18,000 enterprises established by foreign investors in Uzbekistan.
The diplomats also highlighted the institutional framework for protecting the rights of foreign investors and the development of investment cooperation. Special emphasis was placed on Uzbekistan’s logistical capabilities and transit potential.
As a result of participation in the event, agreements were reached to cooperate with interested parties on matters related to doing business, investing in Uzbekistan, obtaining additional information and consultations, and identifying potential partners.
