ZAGREB, January 19. /Dunyo IA/. Two Uzbek nationals, identified as A.A. and R.I., have contacted the Consular Section of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Budapest, seeking official assistance to facilitate their return to Uzbekistan from Croatia, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The applicants reported that they were unable to purchase air tickets after falling victim to fraudulent practices by a private employment agency that had arranged their travel abroad under the pretext of job placement.
In response to the situation, Embassy of Uzbekistan established close working coordination with the Agency for Migration of Uzbekistan. Following the necessary consultations, air tickets were purchased for the applicants using resources from the Fund for the Support and Assistance of Labour Migrants.
On 17 January, the two Uzbek nationals safely returned to their homeland.
The Embassy continues its efforts to safeguard the rights and legitimate interests of citizens of Uzbekistan engaged in labour activities abroad, in line with its mandate to provide comprehensive consular protection through diplomatic channels.
