Samarkand region and Lesser Poland Voivodeship advance plans for expanded bilateral cooperation

WARSAW, March 28. /Dunyo IA/. Diplomats from the Embassy of Uzbekistan made a working visit to Poland's Lesser Poland Voivodeship (Małopolska), where they held a series of meetings with regional authorities and business representatives, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the visit, a meeting was held with the Marshal of the Voivodeship, Łukasz Smółka, his deputy Witold Kozłowski, as well as the Chairman of the Committee on Economy and Development of the Polish Sejm (the lower house of parliament), Rafał Komarewicz.
Additionally, a “roundtable” was organized with heads of leading companies operating in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship. During the discussions, the parties reviewed prospects for expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation.
As a result of the negotiations, several agreements were reached. Specifically, an online meeting between the leadership of the Samarkand region and the Lesser Poland Voivodeship is planned for April-May of this year. Additionally, preparations are underway for a delegation visit to the Samarkand region, led by the Marshal of the Polish voivodeship, which is expected to take place in September-October.
Special attention was given to education. The parties agreed to develop a partnership between the Krakow University of Economics Business School and specialized higher education institutions in Uzbekistan.
Furthermore, prospects for implementing mutually beneficial projects involving local companies - including “Smart Nanotechnologies”, “IC Sec”, “Alventa Invest”, “Air2gas” and “BSPL” - were discussed. The parties expressed a mutual interest in further strengthening cooperation and developing long-term partnerships.
