Ambassador of Uzbekistan and Director of leading Indian business association discuss joint business forums in Tashkent and Samarkand

NEW DEHLI, March 22. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador of Uzbekistan Sardor Rustambayev held a meeting with Jyoti Vij, Director General of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the talks, the parties discussed preparations for the upcoming session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, and Scientific-Technical Cooperation (IGC) between Uzbekistan and India, scheduled to take place in April in Tashkent.
The Ambassador proposed organizing business forums in Tashkent and Samarkand as part of the forthcoming IGC session. Both sides emphasized the importance of ensuring the participation of leading entrepreneurs from both countries in these events.
Jyoti Vij confirmed FICCI’s readiness to assist in organizing the visit of a representative Indian business delegation to Uzbekistan.
An agreement was also reached to hold an online meeting in the first half of April, involving Indian companies as well as the relevant ministries and sectoral associations of Uzbekistan.
FICCI is India’s largest national business association and a key partner of the government. Its main activities include interaction with the government on economic policy and tax legislation, promoting India as an investment destination, and organizing international forums and B2B and B2G meetings.
The Federation unites over 250,000 companies through regional chambers of commerce and represents businesses across all Indian states and economic sectors.
