German media: One of Uzbekistan’s largest industrial enterprises launched in Almalyk

FRANKFURT AM MAIN, March 22. /Dunyo IA/. President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev inaugurated the copper beneficiation plant of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine, one of the country’s largest industrial projects, reports Dunyo IA correspondent citing the German publication Deutsche Allgemeine Zeitung.
The project is valued at USD 2.7 billion. The plant, built on an area of 196 hectares, has a processing capacity of up to 60 million tons of ore per year, producing approximately 900,000 tons of copper concentrate. The project is expected to become a key element in the development of the metallurgical sector and in enhancing the country’s export potential.
According to the Head of state, the development of high-tech copper processing lays the foundation for the industry of the future. Copper is considered a strategic raw material, in demand in the energy sector, electronics, and the “green” economy.
The project also incorporates digital technologies and artificial intelligence, which are expected to increase production efficiency and reduce costs. New jobs are being created, and specialist training is being developed with the participation of international partners.
With the launch of the new plant and other ongoing projects in Almalyk, significant growth in the production of copper and other metals is anticipated, strengthening Uzbekistan’s industrial and economic potential.
