Constitution Day of Uzbekistan Solemnly Observed by the Uzbek Diaspora in Israel

TEL AVIV, December 7. /Dunyo IA/.  A solemn ceremony dedicated to the Constitution Day of Uzbekistan was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the State of Israel, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event was attended by compatriots residing in Israel, as well as representatives of the Uzbek diaspora and various public organizations.

The speakers emphasized that a Constitution stands as an essential attribute of the independence and sovereignty of any state, serving as the fundamental cornerstone for building a democratic society governed by the rule of law.

It was noted that the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, adopted on 8 December 1992, laid the legal foundation for the country’s development, the safeguarding of its territorial integrity, and the consolidation of statehood.

Participants were informed that, following a nationwide referendum in 2023, the Basic Law was renewed and adopted in a revised edition consisting of 6 sections, 26 chapters, and 154 articles, all aligned with contemporary international human rights standards.

During the event, attendees were briefed on the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan, the significance of the constitutional amendments, and the new opportunities arising from the updated Constitution. Special attention was given to matters concerning support for compatriots abroad, consular and legal assistance, and the further development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

Information was also provided on the upcoming Population Census and Agricultural Census, scheduled to take place in Uzbekistan from 15 January to 28 February 2026.

It was emphasized that the conduct of these censuses is directly linked to constitutional provisions ensuring the protection of citizens’ rights and interests, transparency in public policy, and the collection of accurate data on the country’s demographic and socio-economic development.

The event took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Participants received comprehensive information about the country’s ongoing reforms, the significance of the renewed Constitution, and the importance of the forthcoming 2026 Census. Compatriots expressed their sincere gratitude for the attention and support extended to them.
