Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Receives New Ambassador of Algeria

TASHKENT, July 7. /Dunyo IA/. Today, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov received Algeria’s newly appointed Ambassador, Jamila Achour, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
“Received the copies of the credentials of H.E. Jamila Achour, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to the Republic of Uzbekistan, – wrote the head of MFA of Uzbekistan on his Telegram-channel. – During the meeting, we exchanged views on the implementation of the agreements reached during our official visit to Algeria in June this year. Reaffirmed our readiness to further enhance cooperation in trade and economy, investment, education, culture, and other promising areas.
Wished Ambassador Jamila Achour every success in her responsible and honourable diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan.”
It is worth recalling that Uzbekistan and Algeria established diplomatic relations on June 30, 1992. Jamila Achour has succeeded Mohamed Irki, who headed the Embassy of Algeria from 2023 to 2026.
In May 2026, Mansurbek Kilichev was accredited as Uzbekistan’s first ambassador to Algeria.
