SAINT PETERSBURG, May 3. /Dunyo IA/. A large-scale project titled “Days of Uzbekistan” was held in Saint Petersburg, organized jointly with the city government, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

As part of the program, a presentation of Uzbekistan’s tourism potential took place at the Nevskaya Ratusha complex. It was noted that Uzbekistan is among the world’s safest tourist destinations and is actively developing gastronomic tourism.

During B2B meetings, representatives of Samarkand Region expressed readiness to introduce special pricing policies for group tourists. Following negotiations with representatives of the Saint Petersburg administration, a protocol on the development of cooperation in tourism was signed, along with a memorandum of intent with the Russian online booking service “Ostrovok.” The parties also agreed to hold a large-scale cultural and gastronomic festival in September at the Peter and Paul Fortress.

The sports agenda included discussions with the International Kurash Institute. Meetings were held with the Saint Petersburg Committee of Physical Culture and Sports, as well as the Kurash Federation, along with demonstrations and master classes in kurash wrestling. Agreements were reached on the development of sports sections and the signing of a memorandum with the P.F. Lesgaft National State University of Physical Education, Sport and Health for academic exchange and research cooperation.

Digital and technological cooperation was also discussed, including the promotion of Uzbekistan’s tourism potential through VK platforms, development of industrial tourism with the Saint Petersburg Chamber of Commerce, and preparations for the Travel Hub “Commonwealth” forum in Uzbekistan.

The cultural program featured a screening of the film “Uzbek girl,” an Uzbek cultural evening at the Primorsky Cultural Center, exhibitions of Samarkand artisans, fashion shows, and performances by the “Bahor” ensemble and other artists. The series concluded with a ceremonial reception titled “Evening of Saint Petersburg–Uzbekistan Friendship,” bringing together government officials, business representatives, and public figures.
