• 126DELHI, January 30. /Dunyo IA/. “Maharashtra State Beach Kurash Championship 2025–2026” concluded in the Indian state of Maharashtra, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Held in the Sangli district, the large-scale sporting event reaffirmed Kurash as one of the fastest-growing martial arts on the international stage.
Organized to further promote the sport among the youth of the state, the championship brought together over 450 athletes from across Maharashtra, competing in all weight categories and across age groups, including children, adolescents, youth and adults.
Since its inception in 2018, the Maharashtra Beach Kurash Championship has become an annual tradition, playing a key role in popularizing the beach variant of Kurash in India.
Events of this scale in one of India’s largest states underscore the growing international recognition of Uzbek Kurash, a sport that unites thousands of athletes worldwide while promoting the values of fair play and sportsmanship.
