Uzbekistan and China review interregional opportunities to strengthen trade and economic cooperation

SHANGHAI, March 13. /Dunyo IA/. In Shanghai, Rustam Ismoilov, Consul General of Uzbekistan, held a meeting with the Vice President of the China-Asia Economic Development Association (CAEDA), reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Parties discussed issues of further strengthening bilateral trade, economic, investment, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation, as well as interaction in tourism and other areas. They emphasized the importance of regularly organizing joint events aimed at developing practical partnerships between the business circles of the two countries.

Officials noted that thanks to the efforts and political will of the leaders of China and Uzbekistan, relations between the two states have reached a high level of development. According to him, mutual visits of delegations and various economic events have significantly intensified in recent years.

Chinese side expressed readiness to assist in further strengthening partnership ties, support the implementation of joint projects and initiatives in all mutually beneficial areas, and promote the increase of high-quality Uzbek product exports to the Chinese market while attracting investment into Uzbekistan's economy.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to regularly organize joint events involving business representatives from both countries, including business forums, presentations, “roundtables” and reciprocal delegation visits.

Parties also discussed the participation of the association's member companies in upcoming international events, specifically the third Uzbekistan-China Interregional Forum, to be held in May this year in Xi'an and the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum, scheduled for June in the capital of Uzbekistan.

China-Asia Economic Development Association was established in 1993 in Beijing. The organization brings together more than 400,000 companies and approximately 400 national and international chambers of commerce and business associations.
