CAIRO, March 6. /Dunyo IA/. An online meeting was held between representatives of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan and the Egyptian companies ACDIMA and Dentafill Plus, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The discussions focused on expanding bilateral cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector, including the transfer of modern drug manufacturing technologies and their localization in Uzbekistan.
As an initial stage of cooperation, the parties agreed to begin the production of the hepatitis C antiviral medicines Daclatasvir and Sofosbuvir for the Uzbek market. The project envisages the gradual transfer of production technologies to Uzbekistan, the involvement of Egyptian specialists, the training of local personnel, and the adaptation of manufacturing capacities.
In addition, the meeting explored opportunities for the localization of more than one thousand types of medicines, as well as prospects for establishing insulin production in Uzbekistan.
It was noted that such cooperation will contribute to the development of the national pharmaceutical industry, reduce dependence on imported medicines, and further strengthen industrial cooperation between the two countries.
Projects of this nature are also expected to play an important role in ensuring access to high-quality and affordable medicines for the population and advancing Uzbekistan’s ambition to become a regional pharmaceutical hub.
