LONDON, August 3. /Dunyo IA/. A delegation from the National Media Company of Uzbekistan has paid a visit to London, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Primary objective of the visit was to expand bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom in the field of mass media. The itinerary focused on gaining insights into the operations of leading British media institutions, fostering knowledge exchange and exploring prospects for the implementation of joint media projects.

With the facilitation of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United Kingdom, visits to the headquarters of leading British media institutions – “Reuters” Information Agency and the “BBC” media corporation were organized for the delegation members.

During the meetings, representatives of the National Media Company of Uzbekistan familiarized themselves in detail with the operational specifics of the world’s leading mass media, their organizational frameworks, editorial policies, as well as the functioning of their global correspondent networks for news gathering and dissemination.

Within the framework of the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at developing bilateral cooperation was signed between “BBC Media Action” and the National Media Company of Uzbekistan.

Furthermore, delegation members familiarized themselves with the operations of the BBC's 24-hour news studio, its fact-checking unit, the production process of various television programs and state-of-the-art broadcasting equipment.

Concluded official visit marked a milestone step toward elevating cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom in the mass media sector to a qualitatively new level, integrating advanced international expertise into the national media landscape, and further strengthening mutually beneficial partnerships in the global information space.
