Ambassador of Uzbekistan visits the Japanese city of Koshu to discuss the expansion of interregional cooperation

KOSHU, March 28. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador of Uzbekistan Mukhsinhuja Abdurakhmonov, visited the Japanese city of Koshu in Yamanashi Prefecture, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the visit, a meeting was held with the Mayor of Koshu, Suzuki Michio. During the negotiations, it was noted that relations between Uzbekistan and Japan have been developing dynamically in recent years, and the visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Japan in December 2025 has raised bilateral cooperation to a new level. The practical results of interregional ties were also emphasized, such as Samarkand–Nara, Tashkent–Nagoya and Maizuru–Rishtan.

At the meeting, an initiative was launched to establish cooperation between the city of Koshu and regions of our country. The parties discussed collaboration in agriculture, horticulture, viticulture, product processing and agritourism, agreeing to organize an online meeting to define specific areas of cooperation.

Furthermore, an agreement was reached to implement a pilot project for personnel training as part of labour resource cooperation.

During the visit, Ambassador also reviewed the activities of local horticultural and fruit-growing enterprises. Specifically, he studied the operations of Marufuji Winery, founded in 1890, and reached an agreement with the management to exchange experience in the field of winemaking.
