Citizen of Uzbekistan in difficult financial situation in Serbia repatriated to homeland

BUDAPEST, April 24. /Dunyo IA/. The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Hungary continues to systematically work on protecting the rights and legitimate interests of citizens working abroad and providing timely assistance to compatriots in difficult circumstances, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

In particular, embassy diplomats recently assisted in resolving the situation of compatriot from Andijan who had found himself in need of financial support.

According to the citizen’s appeal, he was compelled to return to Uzbekistan from Serbia due to financial difficulties. However, he was unable to purchase an air ticket due to lack of funds. It was also noted that the employer had not officially registered his employment and had not concluded a formal labor contract. As a result, despite having worked for six months, the citizen did not receive his salary.

Consequently, he found himself in a difficult financial situation and was unable to return home independently.

Following this, embassy officials coordinated with the Migration Agency of Uzbekistan to promptly address the issue.

As a result of the measures taken, a free air ticket was provided for the citizen at the expense of the Fund for Supporting labour Migrants, and assistance was rendered for his safe return to Uzbekistan.

These efforts once again confirm that the protection of citizens’ interests remains a key priority of Uzbekistan’s foreign policy.

It is emphasized that no citizen of Uzbekistan will be left without attention, and all necessary measures will be taken to ensure their return to the homeland.
