WASHINGTON, May 3. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the United States, Furkat Sidikov, held a meeting with Todd Miller, Director of the recruiting company “Head Honchos LLC”, at the Embassy of Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in organized labor migration, including within the framework of the H-2A program.
Todd Miller highly commended the active diplomatic efforts of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, which resulted in the inclusion of Uzbek citizens in the list of countries eligible for this program. According to him, this decision has sparked significant interest among American recruiting companies and agricultural producers, as it marks a new phase of practical cooperation in foreign labor recruitment.
The American side noted that the demand for labor resources in the U.S. agricultural sector remains consistently high, while domestic capacity to meet this demand is limited. In this regard, the strategic importance of attracting foreign workers was emphasized.
The management of “Head Honchos LLC” noted that they view citizens of Uzbekistan as a promising and reliable human resource. Drawing on his personal experience, Todd Miller specifically highlighted qualities of Uzbek workers such as industriousness, discipline, responsibility, and a high degree of engagement in the work process.
Particular attention was paid to Uzbekistan's state policy in the field of external labor migration regulation. It was emphasized that protecting the rights and legitimate interests of citizens, as well as creating conditions for their safe and legal employment abroad, are priority areas. The institutional capacity of the Migration Agency of Uzbekistan sparked interest on the American side and was recognized as a solid foundation for building systemic cooperation.
As a result of the talks, a series of agreements were reached, including the establishment of long-term, mutually beneficial cooperation to recruit citizens of Uzbekistan for the U.S. agricultural sector under the H-2A program. “Head Honchos LLC” expressed its readiness to manage recruitment processes ranging from candidate selection and vetting to documentation and placement in accordance with international standards.
Furthermore, an agreement was reached to implement comprehensive short-term preparatory programs for Uzbek citizens. These programs will include English language training, as well as instruction on the basics of labor law, workplace culture and essential agricultural skills.
Founded in 2000 and headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, “Head Honchos LLC” is one of the leading recruiting organizations specializing in attracting foreign labor for agriculture and other labor-intensive industries in the United States. Annually, the company facilitates the seasonal employment of over 3,000 foreign citizens and maintains sustainable partnerships with approximately 400 farms across the country.
