Uzbek Students celebrate Navruz widely in London

LONDON, March 24. /Dunyo IA/. A festive event dedicated to Navruz, the symbol of spring and renewal, was held at the prestigious British educational institution - University College London (UCL), reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The youth festival, organized at the initiative of the World Youth Association of our country and the Association of Uzbek Students in the UK, brought together not only students from the region but also from other countries around the world, leaving a profound impression on them.
At the event, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Ravshan Usmanov delivered a speech, characterizing Navruz as an incomparable spiritual treasure refined over the centuries. He emphasized that Navruz is not only a symbol of spring and the awakening of nature but also a bright holiday celebrating the ideas of humanism, kindness, solidarity, and goodwill. It was noted that Navruz is a unique and priceless tradition that unites diverse peoples and cultures, forging strong bonds between hearts and fostering the development of cultural dialogue.
The festival was attended by students from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Türkiye, Azerbaijan and other countries, as well as members of the diaspora, the diplomatic corps, British academic circles and thousands of guests interested in Central Asian culture.
The event featured an exhibition of national handicrafts, traditional music and dance performances, folk arts and crafts, as well as a fair showcasing sumalak and national cuisine. Guests experienced the spirit of Eastern hospitality and had the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the unique atmosphere of Navruz.
Cultural and educational dialogues and “roundtables” were also held, during which the role of youth in international cooperation and the development of ties in education and culture were discussed. Participants noted that such initiatives contribute to strengthening mutual respect and understanding between representatives of different nationalities.
As part of the Navruz celebration, guests familiarized themselves with ancient customs, spring rituals and national values. National dishes were presented, while traditional games and stage performances reflected the essence of the holiday even more vividly.
