Uzbekistan Pavilion Covers 900 sq.m. at the Baghdad International Fair

• 849BAGHDAD, February 3. /“Dunyo” IA/. The opening ceremony of the 49th Baghdad International Fair was held in Baghdad, featuring a high-level delegation from Uzbekistan, “Dunyo” IA's correspondent reports.
This year’s exhibition will run until February 7 under the slogan “A New Vision for the Economy of the Future.”
The opening ceremony was attended by Iraqi Minister of Trade Asir al-Ghariri, Director General of the Iraqi State Company for Exhibitions and Trade Services Mustafa al-Ani, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Agriculture Ibrokhimjon Abdurakhmanov, and Chairman of the Iraqi Economic Council Ibrahim al-Baghdadi.
Notably, Uzbekistan is participating in the Baghdad International Fair for the first time as a Guest of Honor.
The Uzbek delegation also included around 200 local entrepreneurs, led by the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Davron Vakhabov.
At the fair, they showcased their products—including foodstuffs, textiles, industrial goods, electrical equipment, pharmaceuticals, jewellery, construction materials, and automobiles—at the “Made in Uzbekistan” pavilion, which occupied an area of 900 sq.m.
As part of the exhibition, a Iraq–Uzbekistan Business Forum is scheduled, along with B2B and B2G meetings.
Representatives from companies in 36 countries are participating in the fair, presenting the latest developments in construction, technology, energy, healthcare, agriculture, and the food industry.
Companies from Iraq’s close partners—including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, Qatar, Oman, and Syria—are participating with large national pavilions. India and France are also presenting national pavilions, while Japanese and Italian companies showcase technologies, and Algeria and other Arab countries participate with their economic partners.
In total, over 1,000 local and international companies have set up exhibition stands. The event will also host a series of business forums and meetings for local and foreign investors.
