Culture of Uzbekistan showcased at annual parade in New York City

NEW YORK, May 20. /Dunyo IA/. An annual parade organized by the Turkish community in the United States was held in New York, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Held since 1981, the event is considered one of the largest cultural and public platforms for Turkic diaspora associations in the United States.

As part of the parade, the Uzbek diaspora organization “Turkestan-American Association” presented a cultural program dedicated to the traditions and national heritage of Uzbekistan. The participation of the Uzbek side was organized with the support of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in New York.

On a specially decorated float adorned with national flags and elements of traditional decor, compatriots performed Uzbek folk dances and musical compositions. The performance by the Uzbek group captured the interest of numerous spectators and participants, becoming one of the prominent highlights of the parade's cultural program.

The participation of the Uzbek diaspora in the event provided an opportunity to present Uzbekistan's rich culture, traditions, and national identity to a broad international audience, while also serving as another example of our compatriots' active involvement in the social and cultural life of the United States.
